Lawyer graduated from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in 1976. He took courses of specialization and postgraduate studies at Graduate School of Business Administration (ESAN), at the Academy of American and International Law of the Southwestern Legal Foundation at the University of Texas, and at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration of the Virginia University, among others.

Mr. Flury has an outstanding performance both, in Mining and Corporate Law, and is a leading professional at a national and international level who actively takes part in the promotion and encouragement of the national mining activity and of the entrepreneurial scope thereof by having managed the most important domestic mining companies and responsible for the structuring and advice regarding the accomplishment of the largest mining projects to be executed by the largest mining companies worldwide.

Mr. Flury's practice involves professional participation through the National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy (SNMPE) being member of its Board of Directors for more than 20 years, and President of this same institution in the years 1997, 1998, and 2009; currently, he is a part of the Advisory Council thereof. His significant participation and contribution in this field has directly encouraged the development and upgrading of the Peruvian mining legislation and regulation that enabled to attain a higher competitiveness at a worldwide level.

Likewise, he served as Ministry of Energy and Mines (2003 and 2004). During his administration, important reforms in the mining sector were performed the same that directly contributed to the strengthening and stability of the mining practice. His prominent achievements in this field enabled him to be awarded the prize "Encomienda de Número de la Orden al Mérito Civil" [Entrustment of Number of the Civil Merit Order] conferred by Spain (2004).

Before joining our law firm, he worked at Estudio Ferrero and was counsel at Estudio Rodrigo, Elías y Medrano, Abogados, as well. Similarly, he fulfills the position of Legal Counsel of Southern Perú Copper Corporation (Perú) where he joined in 1974, and currently, one of the largest mining companies in the country with sales exceeding US$3,000 million on a yearly basis. To date, he is member of the Board of Directors of several companies such as National Confederation of Private Business Associations (CONFIEP), PERU 2021, Peruvian Association of Exporters (ADEX), National Society of Industries (SIN), among other professional development institutions.

On the other hand, he has lectured different law courses at Universidad de Lima's School of Administrative Sciences; currently, he is in charge of the diplomate in Mining and Environment Law at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas. Furthermore, he was awarded the "Honorary Doctorate" conferred by Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería for his academic and professional performance (2010).
